The Open Source Consortium represents the Open Source business community in the UK, both as a trade association and as a campaigner for open standards in public and commercial life. Open Source IT has provided infrastructure for the OSC's membership system, and also helped to implement open source desktop systems in a public survey of software preferences conducted by the OSC for Birmingham Library Services.
Oxford Innovation is the UK's leading operator of business and innovation centres. Open Source IT itself started life in one of Oxford Innovation's managed service offices, and we're proud to have supplied multi-tenant firewall and connectivity solutions to many of Oxford Innovation's buildings.
QCDA was until March 2012 the UK government body responsible for national curriculum assessment and examinations delivery to schools and colleges across the country (these services have now been transferred to the Department for Education). Open Source IT designed and implemented under subcontract a secure reverse-proxy configuration to provide off-campus student access to personal timetables and examination records.
The Yorkshire and Humber Grid for Learning is a connectivity and services provider to Local Education Authorities in Yorkshire and Humberside. Open Source IT was a major subcontractor in the design and implementation in 2004 and 2006 of many of the security filtering, connectivity and load-balancing systems used to provide services to over 1500 primary and secondary schools.
