Open Source IT implemented firewall and VPN solutions for several Blueberrywave locations, combined with website proxy services and a secure remote access system for Blueberrywave's database servers.

Honda is a household name, manufacturing cars and motorbikes, with offices across the globe. Open Source IT was chosen to install and configure the firewall / VPN and load-balancing system for connectivity at the company's UK head office.

The IETF is one of those organisations that most people haven't heard of, but without which the Internet wouldn't be what it is today. It is probably best known for co-ordinating the protocols and standards by which the Internet operates (RFCs). Open Source IT provides system admin and database management services to keep a number of the IETF's servers around the world running smoothly.

Open Source IT has provided enterprise-class large-scale firewall systems and routers, as well as a custom remote video surveillance security system for isolated customer sites, enabling LDE to provide a high performance and reliable service.

Médecins sans Frontières

Médecins sans Frontières provides assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict. They do so irrespective of gender, race, religion, creed or political convictions. Open Source IT has provided expertise under subcontract for several IT projects in MSF's London and Dublin offices, including firewalls, VPNs, remote backup facilities, and virtualisation.

The Open Source Consortium represents the Open Source business community in the UK, both as a trade association and as a campaigner for open standards in public and commercial life. Open Source IT has provided infrastructure for the OSC's membership system, and also helped to implement open source desktop systems in a public survey of software preferences conducted by the OSC for Birmingham Library Services.

Oxford Innovation is the UK's leading operator of business and innovation centres. Open Source IT itself started life in one of Oxford Innovation's managed service offices, and we're proud to have supplied multi-tenant firewall and connectivity solutions to many of Oxford Innovation's buildings.

QCDA logo

Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA)

QCDA was until March 2012 the UK government body responsible for national curriculum assessment and examinations delivery to schools and colleges across the country (these services have now been transferred to the Department for Education). Open Source IT provided network security services and systems configuration to the QCDA.

The Information Security Group at Royal Holloway is the UK's leading centre for academic research and teaching in information security. Open Source IT's founder, Antony Stone, not only holds a Master's degree in information security from Royal Holloway, but has been a regular contributor to the teaching material, and a guest lecturer on the course since 2002.

Teliqo is an upcoming provider of business telephone services, the functionality for which is based around a cluster of high-availability Asterisk servers which we installed and provisioned. We've also provided bespoke training to their operations team on how to use the systems.

The University of Bedfordshire was created from the merger of the University of Luton with part of de Montfort University. Open Source IT designed and implemented under subcontract a secure reverse-proxy configuration to provide off-campus student access to personal timetables and examination records.

Yorkshire and Humber Grid for Learning

The Yorkshire and Humber Grid for Learning is a connectivity and services provider to Local Education Authorities in Yorkshire and Humberside. Open Source IT was a major subcontractor in the design and implementation in 2004 and 2006 of many of the security filtering, connectivity and load-balancing systems used to provide services to over 1500 primary and secondary schools.
